The
German Brown Swiss breeding has accsess to three efficient organisations
for artificial insemination. These
organisations are approved according to strict national and European state
regulations. 240.000 first artificial inseminations using German Brown
Swiss sperm are carried out per year by these centres. This means that
the biotechnology for artificial insemination is used for over 75% of
the fecund German Brown Swiss populations. 26% of the first inseminations
are released using about 125 test bulls owned by the stations and 65%
by the 90 positively tested parent from regional breeds. The remaining
first inseminations are a result of purchased or exchange sperm., which
have been obtained within the framework of an internationally linked breed
and test programm. |
